Job Overview:
The Shelter and WASH Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of shelter and WASH projects in the Area South of Iran. This role involves line management of project staff, adherence to NRC policies, and the development of strategies and project proposals. The coordinator will ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with donor requirements and that they effectively target beneficiaries in need of protection. The position requires regular reporting to the Area Manager and collaboration with local authorities and stakeholders. The coordinator will also be responsible for capacity building of staff, managing project budgets, and ensuring high technical quality in project delivery. This role is crucial for enhancing the living conditions of displaced populations and ensuring their rights are respected.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Water and Sanitation Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Certification from the Iranian Construction Engineering Organization (CEO) is also required. This educational background is essential for understanding the technical aspects of shelter and WASH projects and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Experience:
Candidates should have substantial experience in project implementation, particularly in humanitarian or recovery contexts. Direct experience responding to natural disasters is considered a plus. The role demands familiarity with SPHERE standards and technical knowledge specific to the Shelter and WASH sectors.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Persian (Farsi) is also beneficial and may enhance communication with local stakeholders and beneficiaries.
Additional Notes:
This position is classified as a national role and is based in Kerman, Iran, with a significant amount of fieldwork (approximately 80%) in surrounding provinces such as Hormozgan, Sistan & Balouchestan, and Yazd. The contract includes a 3-month probation period with the possibility of extension. The salary is based on NRC's grading structure, specifically grade 7, which corresponds to a mid-managerial/supervisory level within the organization. - Conducting needs assessments and context analysis to inform program development.
- Ensuring compliance with protection and accountability standards throughout project activities. 1

Required Qualifications:
The position requires the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level project implementation role, preferably in a humanitarian context.
- Technical expertise in Shelter and WASH sectors.
- Proven track record of successful project management and implementation.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and develop staff.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory.
- Knowledge of relevant Iranian regulations and standards in the construction and WASH sectors is highly desirable.
