Job Overview: The position of Rådgivningsfaglig konsulent is a part-time role (20 hours per week) to cover for a maternity leave. The consultant will work alongside two other consultants in Aarhus and Copenhagen to support the advisory efforts both professionally and organizationally. The complexity of inquiries has increased significantly in recent years, necessitating a higher level of competence among volunteer advisors. The consultant is expected to engage in team collaboration and manage operational tasks within the Odense advisory office, which operates on Mondays from 16:00 to 19:00.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant's responsibilities include answering inquiries from clients during phone hours, scheduling appointments, referring clients to other advisory services when necessary, preparing case summaries prior to advisory sessions, sending reminders to clients about their appointments, staying updated on developments in law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">immigration law, particularly regarding family reunification, permanent residency, and citizenship, conducting training sessions for volunteer advisors to ensure they are professionally updated, and providing ongoing support to volunteer advisors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be a lawyer or have a relevant educational background with experience in legal work. Experience in advising and guiding clients is essential, along with familiarity with family reunification regulations, permanent residency permits, and citizenship laws. Experience in immigration law is required, and prior experience in volunteer work is advantageous. Flexibility to work afternoons/evenings as needed is also necessary.
Educational Background: A legal degree or equivalent educational background is required for this position, along with relevant experience in legal advisory roles.
Experience: Candidates should have a proven track record in legal advisory roles, particularly in immigration law, and experience working with diverse populations, including refugees and immigrants.
Languages: Fluency in Danish is mandatory, and proficiency in English or other languages relevant to the refugee community is considered an asset.
Additional Notes: The position is part-time, with a work schedule of 20 hours per week. The start date is May 1 or as soon as possible thereafter, with an end date of December 31, 2025, and the possibility of extension. The workplace is located at Kochsgade 26 A, 5000 Odense C. Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the collective agreement between Dansk Flygtningehjælp and the relevant professional organization.
