Job Overview:
The Junior Consultant/Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the Josour Initiative and the Arab Forum for Equality. This position involves conducting background research, drafting discussion elements, and preparing reports that summarize key messages from the forum sessions. The consultant will also be responsible for monitoring interactions within the Josour community, which consists of over 13,000 members and 48 partners. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about social development and eager to contribute to initiatives that empower youth in the Arab region. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders, including political leaders, civil society organizations, and private sector representatives, to ensure the successful execution of project activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Junior Consultant will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including: conducting background research to inform the conceptualization of forum sessions; drafting questions and discussion elements to assist session moderators; preparing summaries of key messages from the forum; compiling a final report detailing the proceedings of the forum; and preparing summary reports of activities related to the Josour Initiative. Additionally, the consultant will monitor exchanges within the Josour community and interact with its members to facilitate engagement and collaboration. Other tasks may be assigned as needed to support the overall objectives of the project.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in fields such as Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Administration, Project Management, Social Policy, or Social Development. All applicants are required to submit a copy of their educational qualifications, as incomplete applications will not be considered. A minimum of three years of relevant professional work experience is necessary, with a preference for candidates who have worked on similar development projects. Familiarity with e-platform management is also desirable, as it aligns with the goals of the Josour Initiative.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Administration, Project Management, Social Policy, or Social Development. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of social issues and the dynamics of project management in the context of youth empowerment and inequality reduction.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience. Candidates should have a proven track record of working on development projects, particularly those that focus on social issues and youth empowerment. Experience in managing or contributing to e-platforms is considered an asset, as it will enhance the consultant's ability to engage with the Josour community effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in both Arabic and English is mandatory for this position, as these are the primary working languages of the United Nations Secretariat and ESCWA. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in all four language skills: speaking, reading, writing, and understanding. Additionally, fluency in French is desirable, which would further enhance communication capabilities within the organization and with various stakeholders.
