Job Overview: The Partnership Specialist role at DRC Myanmar is crucial for fostering effective partnerships with local organizations in the Sittwe and Mrauk U regions. The Partnership Specialist will also contribute to the strategic development of area plans and provide technical guidance to ensure the successful execution of partnership initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Partnership Specialist will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities including: coordinating technical needs assessments for partners, developing capacity development plans, and collaborating with various DRC departments to provide necessary technical assistance. The specialist will participate in capacity assessments of potential partners, ensuring that their needs are effectively addressed. They will also conduct internal assessments to identify areas for improvement within DRC staff to enhance partnership engagement. The role involves overseeing the implementation of capacity development plans, facilitating training sessions, and drafting reports on partnership activities. Additionally, the specialist will monitor training and capacity development initiatives, ensuring that all relevant databases are maintained and updated. They will lead efforts in training and coaching both partners and DRC staff on the use of tools and SOPs, and will actively participate in external coordination meetings to represent DRC and foster collaboration with other sectors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Partnership Specialist position must possess a Bachelor’s degree in political science, international development, economics, or a related field. A minimum of three years of experience in international humanitarian programs focused on capacity development is required, along with experience working with civil society and community-based organizations. Strong project management skills, including proposal development, budgeting, and reporting, are essential.
