Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the Council Awards team at the American Heart Association's National Center office in Dallas, TX. This position involves the planning, implementation, and marketing of member recognition programs at AHA Scientific Meetings. These programs include scholarships, travel grants, awards, and lectures aimed at recognizing excellence among early career investigators, clinicians, researchers, students, and other professionals. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure that all aspects of the recognition programs are executed smoothly and effectively, contributing to the overall mission of the AHA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring project timelines, ensuring effective communication regarding project needs and related information. This includes responding to internal and external communications related to council awards and professional membership marketing as defined by the supervisor. The coordinator will prepare, process, and track all correspondence and support requirements related to awards, update online content, and collaborate with internal teams to create marketing communications and collateral. Additionally, the coordinator will assist with the execution of award selection committee meetings, report on membership marketing campaigns, maintain accurate data for tracking awards program logistics, and support the manager with budget and presentation logistics for awards. The role also involves supporting marketing, communication, and fulfillment efforts for scientific meetings and other assigned projects.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of 3 years of administrative and/or project coordination experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with excellent problem-solving, project management, time management, and organizational skills. The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision is crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Business, OneDrive, SharePoint, and competency in using Excel spreadsheets is required. Candidates should also have the ability to learn new software applications as needed and the physical capability to lift and/or move large objects, with assistance if necessary.

Educational Background:
While a High School Diploma is the minimum requirement, candidates with some college education or a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, or a related area are preferred. This educational background will provide a solid foundation for the responsibilities associated with the Project Coordinator role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in administrative support or project coordination. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage projects effectively, communicate clearly, and work collaboratively within a team environment.
