Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator position is a vital role within the quality improvement special initiatives teams at the American Heart Association. This position is primarily responsible for administering and organizing various projects related to the Mission: Lifeline Stroke initiative. The role requires collaboration with Program Consultants to manage project deliverables, including grant agreements, payments, and overall project tracking. The Project Coordinator will also engage with multiple departments within the national office to ensure project success. This position is designed to be home-based, with preferred locations including Minnesota, Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The role is full-time and benefits-eligible, funded by grants that are currently set to expire on June 30, 2027, with potential for extension. The AHA provides resources to support work-life balance and professional development, including access to Heart U, their corporate university, and various training opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator will perform a variety of administrative tasks to support the Mission: Lifeline Stroke team. Key responsibilities include:
  • Administering and organizing project documentation, ensuring all materials are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Coordinating outreach efforts and agreements to facilitate smooth onboarding processes for clients.
  • Planning and organizing events, including continuing education workshops and conferences, ensuring all logistical details are managed effectively.
  • Maintaining excellent communication with both internal and external partners to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met on time.
  • Utilizing strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Engaging in problem-solving to address any challenges that arise during project execution.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field. A minimum of three years of administrative support experience is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent process management and organizational skills, proficiency in PC and computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel, and a solid understanding of business English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Candidates should also be adept at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and possess strong problem-solving abilities. Knowledge or experience in cardiac, stroke, and/or resuscitation science is preferred.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a High School Diploma or equivalent as a minimum qualification. A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred, as it provides a solid foundation for the administrative and organizational tasks required in this role.

Experience:
The position requires at least three years of administrative support experience. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage processes effectively, coordinate projects, and communicate with various stakeholders. Familiarity with nonprofit operations and an understanding of health-related initiatives, particularly in the areas of cardiac and stroke care, will be advantageous.

Languages:
