The Finance Technical Assistant - Budget plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the NRC in Mopti, Mali. This position involves ensuring compliance with NRC's policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines while assisting in the implementation of support functions as outlined in the action plan. The assistant will be responsible for drafting reports on the progress of support activities as requested by supervisors or management, ensuring proper archiving of documents, and actively proposing improvements to support functions. The role also includes assisting in the preparation of payment documents, obtaining necessary signatures, and facilitating field payments as needed. The assistant will work closely with the finance officer to ensure accurate documentation and quality financial information, adhering to standards of authenticity, verifiability, completeness, and compliance before securing and archiving financial records.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Technical Assistant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: working in accordance with NRC policies and guidelines; assisting in the implementation of support functions; drafting progress reports on support activities; ensuring proper archiving of documents; encouraging improvements in support functions; preparing payment documents (vouchers) and obtaining signatures; facilitating field payments; submitting payment journals to the finance officer for review; ensuring all payment documents are stamped and classified according to NRC standards; verifying the accuracy and completeness of financial documentation; and maintaining high-quality financial information in compliance with NRC's standards.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of professional experience as an assistant in accounting, finance, or archiving within a humanitarian context. A minimum educational qualification of Bac + 3 in accounting and business management (BTS) or an equivalent field is required. Proficiency in computer tools and the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, OneDrive, and SharePoint, is essential. Previous professional experience in complex and unstable contexts is preferred, along with proven results in fulfilling the responsibilities of the position. Knowledge of English is considered an asset.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes at least a Bac + 3 degree in accounting and business management (BTS) or a related field. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding financial principles and practices necessary for the role.
Experience:
