Job Overview: The CrisisInSight Manager position is a leadership role responsible for overseeing ACAPS' largest analysis unit. The successful candidate will lead a team of analysts and a project manager, ensuring the strategic direction and operational functions of the CrisisInSight team. This role requires a dynamic leader with a passion for data-driven decision-making and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The manager will be responsible for setting priorities, maintaining operational relationships, and ensuring the quality of analysis produced by the team. The position also involves representing the team in high-level engagements and shaping the future direction of ACAPS' analysis efforts in a rapidly evolving humanitarian landscape.
Duties and Responsibilities: The CrisisInSight Manager will have a wide range of responsibilities, including:
Leading the planning process for the CrisisInSight strategy in collaboration with the Chief Analyst.
Building and managing high-performing teams, providing mentorship and guidance.
Ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of CrisisInSight activities, including monitoring project risks and compliance.
Overseeing the development of new programs and managing existing program growth.
Developing and leading fundraising strategies and maintaining relationships with partners and stakeholders.
Providing oversight of the financial position of the CrisisInSight Team and ensuring effective financial management.
Engaging in knowledge sharing and collaboration across ACAPS teams to enhance the quality and relevance of analysis products.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in social sciences, international development, business administration, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree may be accepted with additional relevant work experience. The position requires a minimum of 8-10 years of senior management experience, particularly in the humanitarian sector. Candidates should have a strong understanding of global humanitarian architecture, quantitative and qualitative research methods, and experience in managing diverse teams. Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills, along with exceptional communication abilities, are essential for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in relevant fields such as social sciences, international development, or business administration. A Bachelor's degree may be considered if accompanied by significant work experience in a related area. The candidate should have a solid foundation in research methodologies and data analysis, which are critical for the role.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in senior management roles, with at least 8-10 years of experience in the humanitarian sector. This experience should include managing teams, leading strategic initiatives, and engaging with diverse stakeholders. Familiarity with humanitarian needs assessments and the ability to work under tight deadlines are also important aspects of the required experience.
Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, proficiency in French, Spanish, or Arabic is considered a significant asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with a broader range of stakeholders and partners in the humanitarian field.
