Job Overview: The Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing ACAPS' brand visibility and maximizing its impact as a leading source for independent humanitarian data and analysis. This position requires a passion for storytelling and communication, with a focus on crafting and executing a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with ACAPS' vision and goals. Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with ACAPS’ vision and goals, contributing to amplifying the organization's voice and attracting more donors.
Brand Management: Build and maintain a strong brand identity, ensuring all communications reflect ACAPS' values and mission.
Content Creation: Oversee the creation of high-quality content for various platforms, including press releases, social media, website, and internal communications, ensuring impactful storytelling.
Stakeholder and Media Engagement: Develop and nurture relationships with external stakeholders, including partners, donors, influencers, and key media outlets to foster collaboration and secure positive coverage.
Crisis Management: Lead crisis communication efforts, providing clear and effective responses to protect the company's reputation.
Team Leadership: Inspire, mentor, and manage a team of communication professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Metrics and Analysis: Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strategic thinking and a creative mindset.
Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, with a strong understanding of digital media trends.
Strong emotional intelligence and solid coaching skills, with the ability to work closely with a diverse team.
Educational Background: A degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related discipline is required for this position. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of communication strategies and stakeholder engagement.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field is required, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. This level of experience is essential to ensure the candidate can effectively lead the communications team and develop strategies that align with organizational goals.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Additional languages may be beneficial but are not specified as mandatory.
Additional Notes: The position is a full-time role with a contract duration of 12 months, subject to funding, and is renewable. The duty station is in The Hague, Netherlands, and the organization is willing to sponsor visa/work permits for the right candidate. The role may require travel of up to 20%.
