Job Overview:
The Economic Recovery Officer will play a crucial role in the planning and implementation of economic recovery projects in Burundi. This position requires a strong understanding of resilience-building strategies and the ability to coordinate effectively with project partners. The officer will be responsible for daily project activities, ensuring that they align with the overall objectives of DRC's economic recovery initiatives. The role involves regular communication with project stakeholders, including community representatives and government entities, to facilitate the successful execution of project activities. The officer will also be expected to contribute to market assessments and maintain updated knowledge of economic sectors relevant to the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Economic Recovery Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including supporting the implementation of daily resilience activities, integrating multisectoral considerations into livelihood programming, and ensuring effective communication with project partners. The officer will conduct regular market assessments, maintain accurate records of project activities, and provide monthly data for reporting purposes. Additionally, the officer will be responsible for building relationships with community representatives and coordinating with administrative, financial, and logistical staff to ensure the smooth delivery of assistance. The role also involves supervising community mobilization agents and contributing to the development of new training programs as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of humanitarian field experience, particularly in livelihood programming, economic development, and infrastructure rehabilitation. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential. The ability to work in a multicultural environment and manage pressure effectively is also required. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to work overtime when necessary.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in business administration, development studies, sociology, community development, agricultural management, or security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security is required for this position. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of economic recovery and community resilience.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least three years of relevant experience in humanitarian work, with a focus on livelihoods and economic recovery initiatives. Experience in conducting market assessments and working with diverse stakeholders is highly valued. The candidate should also have a proven track record of implementing successful projects in challenging environments.

Languages:
Fluency in French and Kirundi is mandatory, while proficiency in English (both oral and written) is considered an advantage. Strong communication skills in these languages will be essential for effective collaboration with stakeholders and beneficiaries.
