Job Overview: The Analyst position at EBRD is integral to the project cycle, encompassing project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks assigned by the operation leader or senior project team members. This includes conducting comprehensive due diligence, which involves financial, market, integrity assessments, and ensuring compliance with EBRD policies. The role requires effective post-signing implementation and monitoring, working collaboratively within a project team under the guidance of more experienced bankers. The Analyst will engage in research and analysis, evaluate risks, and assist in communication with stakeholders, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst's responsibilities include:
Structuring and Execution: - Collaborating with the project team on transactions, conducting thorough research and analysis of market data and financial performance. - Evaluating potential risks associated with projects, analyzing financial statements, and preparing financial models and projections. - Assisting in the design and processing of technical cooperation assistance, including drafting terms of reference and internal approval documents. - Communicating with internal units, clients, and stakeholders, preparing correspondence and presentations as needed. - Ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks in accordance with the Bank's policies and objectives.
Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation, and Reporting: - Undertaking tasks related to project implementation and monitoring, ensuring compliance with agreements and procedures. - Preparing draft monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions and ensuring these are communicated to senior team members. - Assisting with the implementation and monitoring of technical cooperation assignments, including communication with clients and preparing progress reports. The Analyst's role is designed to evolve, allowing for increased complexity in tasks and responsibilities as experience is gained.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and develop financial models. Credit analysis skills are necessary, including familiarity with local and international accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial analysis software is required, along with a good understanding of relevant systems and processes. The ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines under pressure is crucial, as are strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Slovenian.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of complex financial concepts. Candidates with professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA will have an advantage, as these credentials demonstrate a commitment to the field and a depth of knowledge in financial analysis and management.
Experience: Relevant experience in the financial industry is essential for this role.
