The UNDP's Accelerator Labs are a new service offering that collaborates with individuals, governments, and the private sector to redefine development concepts for the 21st century, with a network of over 90 teams across Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia, the Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
Job Overview:
The internship aims to support the UNDP Accelerator Lab in Argentina by contributing to its work cycles and fostering strategic alliances with the public sector, private sector, and organized civil society. The intern will assist in research lines and project management, support the development of scheduled actions and activities, and provide technical, methodological, and operational inputs, particularly focusing on mapping solutions. The role is designed to enhance the intern's understanding of sustainable development and innovative practices while contributing to the lab's objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in a postgraduate program (such as a master's program or higher) or in a professional internship program in sociology, anthropology, data science, political science, international relations, economics, or related fields, with a GPA of 8 or higher at the time of application; (b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of an undergraduate program (such as a bachelor's degree or equivalent) in sociology, anthropology, data science, political science, international relations, economics, or related fields, with a GPA of 8 or higher at the time of application; (c) Have recently graduated with a university degree in the aforementioned fields, with a final GPA of 8 or higher, and if selected, must start the internship within one year of graduation. Academic performance and GPA are critical for selection. A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience (work, volunteer, etc.) in development, research, sustainability, or innovation is also required, which can be demonstrated through a letter from a direct supervisor if necessary. Previous knowledge and demonstrated experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies are essential, with a preference for familiarity with Atlas.ti. Proficiency in Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media management, etc.) is mandatory, along with a high capacity for learning, initiative, proactivity, problem-solving, and ethical sensitivity. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment are also required.
Educational Background:
Candidates should have a strong academic background in relevant fields such as sociology, anthropology, data science, political science, international relations, or economics. This experience can include formal employment, volunteer work, or internships, and must be verifiable through a letter from a direct supervisor if requested. Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies is essential, and experience with tools like Atlas.ti is highly valued.
Languages:
A high level of proficiency in both Spanish and English is mandatory. Specifically, candidates must demonstrate a B2 level or higher in English according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages. This proficiency can be validated through international exams, proof of sufficient years of study, or evidence of living in an English-speaking country. Excellent communication and writing skills in both languages are crucial for the role.
Additional Notes:
This internship is subject to the policies of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which stipulates a fixed monthly stipend to help cover basic daily expenses such as meals, electricity, and internet. The internship will last for a period of 6 months, with full-time hours to be determined upon selection. Interns will accumulate leave at a rate of 1.5 days per month, which will expire if not used by the end of the internship. Unjustified absences exceeding nine days will result in deductions from the monthly stipend. The internship will be conducted in person, and interns are required to have their own computer equipment for assigned tasks. Additionally, interns must have medical insurance, which must be presented accordingly. At the end of the 6-month period, interns must submit a report approved by their supervisor to UNDP and will receive an internship certificate.

- Assisting in ongoing research, emphasizing empirical evidence collection and literature reviews, and preparing technical inputs.
- Collecting data, creating databases, analyzing evidence, drafting reports, and preparing presentations independently or collaboratively.
- Supporting the monitoring and follow-up of actions taken by the lab or by external/internal partners.
- Organizing events, visits, and specific activities.
- Providing administrative assistance related to the organization, management, and implementation of scheduled activities and actions.
