Job Overview:
The Program Manager for Health Science, Lab Ecosystem will play a pivotal role in supporting the American Heart Association's National Center office, specifically in relation to the Periodic Table of Food Initiative (PTFI). This initiative aims to provide standardized multi-omics tools and data to characterize food quality across the globe. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about food systems, health, and data science, and who can contribute to the advancement of global collaboration within the PTFI and Food EDU ecosystems.   • The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating laboratory networks, generating content, managing communications, and overseeing project timelines and deliverables.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lab Ecosystem Manager will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
  • Content Generation: Co-creating scientific reports, presentations, and documentation to share progress and best practices across the PTFI ecosystem.
  • Communication: Acting as the primary contact for the PTFI global ecosystem, addressing agreements and queries from data users and contributors, and coordinating communications between PTFI, Good Food Fellows, and Food EDU ecosystems.
  • Coordination: Collaborating with PTFI team members to support onboarding of multi-omics tools, aligning workflows for scientific training distribution, and managing Standard Operating Protocols for various processes related to food sample handling and data management.
  • Monitoring: Tracking PTFI deliverables and project timelines, ensuring timely milestone delivery, and providing feedback to enhance processes.
  • Contracts and Agreements: Managing contracts and agreements with collaborating labs and service providers, working closely with legal and administrative teams to process necessary documentation.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant scientific field such as Nutrition, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Public Health, or Environmental Science. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in interdisciplinary and multi-institutional projects is required, with global experience being preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of food composition analysis, food systems research, and data science, along with strong organizational and communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global environment is essential, as is the willingness to travel up to 10%, including international travel.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant scientific discipline. This educational foundation should ideally be complemented by laboratory experience, which will enhance the candidate's ability to engage with the scientific aspects of the role effectively.

Experience:
