Job Overview: The National Consultant position involves updating UN Women’s existing Social Mobilization methodology and guidelines, developing a comprehensive training module, and conducting training sessions for partner civil society organizations (CSOs) in Georgia. The consultant will work closely with the UN Women Georgia Country Office and will be responsible for fine-tuning the training outline, performing a desk review of recent developments in Social Mobilization, and ensuring that the training materials are culturally and contextually relevant. The role emphasizes the importance of engaging vulnerable women in grassroots communities to enhance their economic opportunities and political activism, ultimately contributing to gender equality in Georgia.
Duties and Responsibilities: The National Consultants will be tasked with several key responsibilities:
Conducting an inception meeting with UN Women Georgia representatives to refine the training outline.
Performing a desk review of existing Social Mobilization methodologies and recent international developments.
Updating the Social Mobilization methodology and guidelines based on the findings from the desk review.
Developing a comprehensive training module that includes handouts, case studies, and presentations, along with training assessment tools.
Conducting a 3-day (18-hour) training session for UN Women partner CSOs, followed by a detailed training report that outlines challenges, key takeaways, and lessons learned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree, preferably a Master’s or equivalent, in fields such as Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Political Studies, Public Policy, or Social Policy, along with five years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with seven years of experience may be accepted. The role requires proven experience in implementing Social Mobilization methodologies, developing training materials, and working on gender equality issues. Excellent writing, reporting, and communication skills are essential, as is familiarity with human rights terminology and Social Mobilization practices.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields is required, with a first-level university degree acceptable if combined with sufficient experience. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in gender studies, social sciences, or related disciplines, emphasizing the importance of academic qualifications in understanding gender equality and empowerment.
Experience: Candidates should have at least five years of experience in practical implementation of Social Mobilization methodologies, particularly at the grassroots level with rural women. Experience in developing training materials and conducting training sessions is also required, along with a strong background in gender equality and women's empowerment issues. Previous experience in training facilitation, including Training of Trainers, will be considered a significant asset.
Languages: Proficiency in both English and Georgian is mandatory for this position, ensuring effective communication and training delivery to local partners and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This consultancy is home-based, with at least one required trip to a region in Georgia. The position is expected to involve a significant commitment to developing and delivering training programs, with a focus on enhancing the capacities of local CSOs in Social Mobilization methodologies.
