Job Overview: The Statistical Assistant position is designed to provide effective statistical assistance under the supervision of a Statistician or a more senior Statistical Assistant. Duties and Responsibilities: The Statistical Assistant will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties, including but not limited to: assisting in data collection, compilation, and dissemination; generating tables and graphs for data representation; participating in the review and compilation of background materials; evaluating and examining data sets for accuracy, clarity, and validity from various sources; compiling basic statistical series for comparison; updating statistical series in established formats for data portal uploads; drafting statistical reports; providing statistics and information for publication; liaising with national statistical offices and UN organizations to gather necessary information; preparing data sets upon request; responding to queries and requests; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, finance, or a related field. Proficiency in Excel is a mandatory requirement, along with knowledge in drafting reports and conducting research and data analysis.
