Job Overview: The position involves recruiting a consultant to conduct mapping of zones, indicators, and opportunities related to GDT/GRN for farmer organizations, with a particular focus on women, youth, and internally displaced persons in six municipalities of intervention under the PAMED project. The consultant will be expected to analyze the current situation, identify key indicators, and provide recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness of interventions aimed at supporting these vulnerable groups. The role requires a thorough understanding of local contexts and the ability to engage with various stakeholders to gather relevant data and insights. The consultant will also be responsible for presenting findings and recommendations in a clear and actionable format, ensuring that the information is accessible to all relevant parties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive mapping of zones and indicators relevant to GDT/GRN for farmer organizations.
Engage with local communities, particularly women, youth, and internally displaced persons, to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
Analyze existing data and identify gaps in information that need to be addressed.
Develop a set of key indicators that can be used to measure the effectiveness of interventions.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
Collaborate with UNDP and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with broader development goals.
Provide ongoing support and advice to the project team throughout the mapping process.
Ensure that all activities are conducted in a participatory manner, respecting the views and inputs of local communities.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in conducting similar mapping exercises or assessments in the field of development.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in French and English.
Familiarity with the socio-economic context of Burkina Faso, particularly regarding agricultural development and gender issues.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in development consulting, with a focus on mapping, data collection, and analysis. Experience working with farmer organizations and understanding the challenges faced by women, youth, and displaced persons in rural contexts is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, and proficiency in English is considered an asset. Knowledge of local languages spoken in the target municipalities would be beneficial.
Additional Notes: This position is for an individual contractor and is expected to be a short-term engagement. The consultant will work remotely but may be required to travel to the target municipalities for data collection and stakeholder engagement. The contract duration will be specified in the agreement, and the consultant will be compensated based on the deliverables outlined in the contract.
