Job Overview:
The position of Associado(a) de Ciência de Dados is integral to the project 'BRA/23/009 - Strengthening Innovation and Effectiveness in the JFCE for a People-Centered Justice'. This project aims to develop new methodologies, pilot actions, studies, and tools to enhance the effectiveness of the Federal Justice in Ceará, focusing on a user-centered approach to justice. The Data Science Associate will work on-site, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and closely coordinating with JFCE and UNDP teams. The role involves providing technical support in data analysis and visualization, structuring and organizing data sources, identifying inconsistencies, and proposing solutions. The associate will also develop reports and dashboards using BI tools and assist in building local capacities for the sustainability of proposed interventions. The working language is Portuguese, with knowledge of English being beneficial for daily tasks such as reading documentation and conducting research.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Science Associate will collaborate with focal points at JFCE and UNDP, providing technical support for data analysis initiatives. Key activities include:
  • Advising on the structuring and organization of various data sources used by JFCE and developing solutions to address data inconsistencies.
  • Assisting in identifying inconsistencies in databases, collaborating with data producers, and developing predictive models or classifications.
  • Supporting the production and development of reports and dashboards, including the application of BI tools, with descriptive statistics and visualizations in priority management and operational themes for JFCE.
  • Assisting in the validation of tools and systems related to data science themes to ensure the implementation of project deliverables.
  • Supporting workshops, training, and capacity-building activities for the JFCE TIC team and contributing to the systematization of new methodologies and knowledge developed within the project.
  • Performing other data science tasks as required by the designated supervisor, ensuring the smooth operation of the project.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum education requirements include a completed high school diploma, with a university degree (Bachelor's) in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Information Science, or related fields being advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should possess a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience for those with a high school diploma or 4 years for those with a Bachelor's degree, specifically in data extraction, processing, and analysis or related areas. Required skills include certification and experience in developing dashboards on Qlik and Power BI platforms, proficiency in Python programming, and experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) database extraction and modeling.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have at least a completed high school diploma. A university degree (Bachelor's) in relevant fields such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Information Science is preferred but not mandatory. This educational background is essential for understanding the technical aspects of data science and analytics required for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience for candidates with a high school diploma or 4 years for those with a Bachelor's degree. This experience should be in data extraction, processing, and analysis, or related fields, demonstrating a solid understanding of data science principles and practices.

Languages:
