Job Overview: The Senior Laboratory Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing the capacity of laboratories in Mongolia through the development and implementation of advanced laboratory procedures and standards. This position involves working closely with the FAO Representative in Mongolia and the Lead Technical Officer to ensure that laboratory practices meet international standards. The incumbent will focus on capacity building in Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) methodologies, develop standardized laboratory procedures, and oversee AMR surveillance in the food chain. Additionally, the Senior Laboratory Specialist will develop MNS serial standards for AST in compliance with MNS/ISO17025 accreditation requirements, lead pilot AMR surveillance in the food chain, and perform other related tasks as required to support the FAO's mission in Mongolia.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in microbiology, molecular biology, biological sciences, or a related field.
