Job Overview: The Field Maintenance Engineer is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day activities at construction and maintenance project sites. This role involves supervising contractors to ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with contract documents, maintaining quality standards, and adhering to health and safety regulations. The incumbent will monitor the quality of materials and workmanship, ensuring compliance with specifications and conducting necessary inspections. The engineer will also evaluate and agree on the quantities of executed work with contractors, verify payment requests, and maintain accurate records of project activities. This position requires strong project management skills, the ability to resolve technical difficulties, and effective communication with team members and contractors. The engineer will prepare reports, assess variations in contracts, and ensure that all project documentation is up-to-date and accessible. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise day-to-day activities at construction and maintenance project sites, ensuring compliance with contract documents and quality standards.
Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship, conducting inspections and tests as required.
Evaluate and agree on executed work quantities with contractors, verifying payment requests for accuracy.
Maintain records of working, shop, and as-built drawings, documenting any deviations from original plans.
Prepare and discuss necessary variation orders and extensions of time with supervisors.
Approve contractor methods for safe execution of works and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Conduct site visits to resolve issues and ensure contractors meet contractual obligations.
Review and monitor maintenance schedules, costs, and quality on a regular basis. 1
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution. Additionally, they should demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to establish priorities, and effective project management capabilities. Proven leadership skills and commercial awareness are essential, along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Additional Notes: The position is offered as a Limited Duration Contract (LDC) for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The monthly basic salary for this position is JOD 1,025.30, and additional benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave (pro-rated), sick leave, maternity leave, and paternity leave. Candidates must reside in the West Bank or Jerusalem and possess the necessary work authorization. Preference will be given to registered Palestine refugees and candidates who contribute to gender parity. The recruitment process may include an assessment exercise and competency-based interviews.
