Job Overview:
The position of Consultant for Educational Report Coordination is crucial in addressing the educational challenges faced by rural communities in Central America. The consultant will be responsible for coordinating the development of a comprehensive report on the right to education in rural areas of Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including civil society, government entities, and educational institutions, to ensure that the report reflects the unique challenges and opportunities in rural education. The consultant will oversee the work of a team of consultants, ensuring that deliverables are met on time and that there is continuous communication between all parties involved. The report aims to highlight the importance of education in preserving cultural heritage and fostering sustainable development in rural communities, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goal 4 of the 2030 Agenda.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including:
  • Developing a detailed work plan for the report's preparation.
  • Identifying and engaging key stakeholders to contribute to the report.
  • Assembling a team of consultants to assist in the report's development.
  • Supervising the progress of the report and ensuring that all milestones are achieved according to the established timeline.
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration among stakeholders throughout the report's development process.
  • Preparing monthly progress reports that outline challenges, advancements, and methodologies used in the report's preparation.
  • Ensuring that the report is disseminated effectively to reach a wide audience and promote dialogue on rural education issues.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree and/or postgraduate qualification in areas relevant to consultancy, with at least three years of proven experience in coordinating educational projects, preferably with international organizations. Experience working with education ministries in the involved countries is essential, along with a demonstrated ability to organize and facilitate multi-stakeholder discussions in the educational sector. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to draft follow-up documents, reports, and presentations are crucial for this role. Additionally, candidates should have experience working on projects in rural settings, particularly in education.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree and/or postgraduate degree in fields related to education, social sciences, or project management is required. Candidates with specialized qualifications in rural education will be given preference.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in project coordination within the educational sector is required, with a preference for candidates who have at least ten years of experience in educational project coordination, particularly in rural contexts. Experience with international organizations, government bodies, and civil society is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in English is also required, with a strong emphasis on written communication. Candidates with advanced English skills will be preferred.
