Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the International Consultant include:
Conducting a thorough training needs assessment for the judiciary in the Maldives, including interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions with judicial staff and stakeholders.
Reviewing the existing judicial training curriculum and programs to evaluate their effectiveness and relevance.
Identifying gaps in the current training offerings and proposing enhancements or new training modules that address these gaps.
Collaborating with UNDP and local judicial authorities to ensure that the assessment process is inclusive and considers the perspectives of all relevant stakeholders.
Preparing a comprehensive report that outlines the findings of the assessment, including recommendations for improving the training curriculum and programs.
Presenting the findings and recommendations to UNDP and relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Ensuring that all work is completed within the specified timeline and adheres to UNDP's standards and guidelines.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications:
A master's degree or higher in law, education, public administration, or a related field.
Extensive experience in conducting training needs assessments, particularly within the judicial or legal sectors.
Proven expertise in curriculum development and training design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design.
Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Familiarity with international standards and best practices in judicial training and capacity building.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a minimum of a master's degree in law, education, public administration, or a related field. A PhD or equivalent advanced degree is preferred, particularly for those with a focus on judicial training or capacity building.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5-7 years of relevant experience in conducting training needs assessments, particularly in the judicial or legal sectors. Experience working with international organizations, such as UNDP, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the Maldivian judicial system and previous work in the region will be considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all reports and communications will be conducted in English. Knowledge of Dhivehi, the local language of the Maldives, is considered an advantage but not mandatory.
Additional Notes: This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and the contract duration is for 60 working days. The consultant is expected to work remotely and may need to travel to the Maldives for stakeholder meetings and assessments as required. The position is full-time during the assignment period, and compensation will be based on the consultant's qualifications and experience.
