Job Overview:
The Information Management Officer plays a pivotal role in the effective management of data related to shelter assistance in the West Bank. This position is crucial for ensuring that accurate and timely information is provided to the cluster Information Coordinator and coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team. The officer is responsible for analyzing, verifying, and preparing reports that align with the needs identified in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. By overseeing daily information management activities, the officer ensures adherence to NRC's information management policies and guidelines. The role supports decision-making and coordination across various teams to address the evolving requirements of the region, ultimately contributing to improved humanitarian responses and assistance for affected populations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Management Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Developing user-friendly reporting formats for shelter assistance that incorporate gender disaggregation and cater to vulnerable groups.
  • Training shelter assistance providers and stakeholders on the use of these reporting tools to enhance data collection and reporting practices.
  • Implementing methods to disseminate information regarding shelter needs and solutions to stakeholders and affected populations, ensuring accessibility in both local languages and English.
  • Coordinating with other cluster and OCHA information officers to ensure a complementary approach to information management and cross-sectoral analysis.
  • Producing regular Fact Sheets and other advocacy materials based on accurate data to support advocacy efforts.
  • Managing the Shelter Cluster – Palestine database and website, ensuring they are regularly updated with accurate information.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong professional competencies, including significant experience in data visualization, particularly with tools like Power BI. Proficiency in website development using programming languages such as ASP.NET or C# is essential, along with strong website management skills. A solid understanding of complex emergencies and crisis contexts is also required. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team and possess excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration with various stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A relevant university or college degree in Computer Science or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding data management and analysis, which are critical components of the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least three years of experience working in data management, analysis, and reporting. This experience should ideally be within the context of humanitarian work or similar environments, providing the candidate with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of data in crisis situations.

Languages:
Intermediate proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those spoken in the local context, would be considered an asset and beneficial for effective communication with stakeholders and affected populations.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in Hebron and is classified as Grade (05) Step (01). The contract duration is for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on the needs of the position, available funding, and performance. The role is full-time, and the salary and benefits are aligned with the West Bank Duty Station standards.
