Job Overview: The Administrative Student Programme at CERN offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to gain practical experience in a world-renowned scientific organization. Participants can spend between 2 to 12 months at CERN, engaging in various administrative roles across multiple disciplines such as translation, human resources, business administration, finance, and more. Duties and Responsibilities: As an Administrative Student at CERN, you will be involved in a variety of tasks that may include but are not limited to: assisting in the management of administrative processes, supporting human resources functions, contributing to financial planning and accounting tasks, engaging in logistics and operational support, participating in communication and public relations activities, and providing assistance in library and information science. You will also have the opportunity to work on specific projects that align with your academic background and interests, allowing you to gain valuable insights into the workings of a major international research organization.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the Administrative Student Programme, candidates must be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State. Applicants should have completed at least 18 months or 3 semesters of their undergraduate studies by the time of the next selection round in May 202
It is essential that candidates remain registered as full-time students during their internship. A good command of English or French is required, as these are the primary languages used at CERN. It is important to note that students studying in STEM or engineering fields are not eligible for this program and should consider applying for the CERN Technical Student programme instead.
Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate program in Administration or a related field. They should have completed a minimum of 18 months of study by the time of application, ensuring they have a solid foundation in administrative principles and practices. This educational background is crucial for effectively contributing to the various administrative functions at CERN.
Experience: While prior work experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate a strong academic record and a keen interest in administrative roles. Depending on personal circumstances, there may be additional supplements for those who are married or have children. Participants will also benefit from CERN's comprehensive Health Insurance scheme, with contributions automatically deducted from their allowance. Students will receive 2.5 days of paid leave per month.
