Job Overview: The Knowledge Management & Internal Communications Officer Jr plays a crucial role in supporting the Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager within the Country Office Unit (COU) of WWF. This position is integral to the development, implementation, and enhancement of knowledge management and internal communication initiatives across 11 country offices in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region. The officer will assist in creating engaging content for various internal communication channels, ensuring that information is effectively disseminated and that knowledge is captured and documented. The role requires a proactive approach to managing communication workflows and utilizing data analytics to assess the impact of internal communication strategies. The officer will also be involved in transitioning the COU Google site to SharePoint, ensuring that the shared web platform remains current and relevant.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Knowledge Management & Internal Communications Officer Jr will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Assisting the Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager in creating event content, which involves writing video scripts, collecting video submissions, and designing PowerPoint presentations.
Editing videos for internal communications to ensure clarity and engagement.
Supporting the creation and design of content for internal communication channels, such as newsletters, announcements, and presentations.
Utilizing data analytics tools to identify trends and evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication efforts, including emails, newsletters, and employee surveys.
Assisting in the conversion of the COU Google site to SharePoint, ensuring the site is user-friendly and up-to-date.
Developing training materials for key knowledge management tools in collaboration with the Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager.
Collaborating with subject matter experts to capture and document knowledge within COU LAC.
Maintaining knowledge repositories, databases, and libraries to store organizational knowledge, ensuring easy retrieval through effective organization and categorization.
Performing other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the COU.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or communications. A minimum of two years of professional experience in similar or relevant roles is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently, exercise strategic judgment in decision-making, and manage competing priorities effectively. Strong skills in content creation and design are essential, along with proficiency in data analytics and evaluation. Experience in video editing and production is strongly preferred, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, along with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. Familiarity with knowledge management and communication software, such as SharePoint, Canvas, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign, is highly desirable. Candidates should also be adaptable and committed to fostering a culture of inclusion within teams.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for effective communication and knowledge management within the organization.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of professional experience in roles related to internal communications, knowledge management, or similar fields. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage communication workflows, create engaging content, and utilize data analytics to assess communication effectiveness.
Languages: Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory for this position, as the role involves communication across diverse teams and stakeholders in the Latin America and Caribbean region. Proficiency in additional languages would be considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with a broader audience.
Additional Notes: This position is a full-time, regular role within the WWF Country Office Unit. The candidate must be located in any LAC WWF US Country Office, which includes countries such as Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, and Peru.
