Job Overview:
The Driver position at UNOPS involves providing reliable and safe driving services for the transport of authorized personnel, materials, and equipment. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver is responsible for a variety of tasks including: driving vehicles safely for the transport of authorized personnel, materials, and equipment; collecting and delivering mail, documents, and other items; meeting official personnel at the airport and facilitating immigration and customs formalities; maintaining daily vehicle logs accurately; providing inputs for vehicle maintenance plans and reports; ensuring the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, including checking oil, water, battery, brakes, and tires; performing minor repairs and arranging for major repairs; keeping the vehicle clean at all times; ensuring the availability of required documents and supplies such as vehicle insurance, logs, office directory, maps, first aid kit, and spare parts; maintaining accurate fuel logs; and taking immediate steps as required by rules and regulations in case of an accident. The Driver must also monitor and control the vehicle's condition, ensuring it is accident- and incident-free, and that maintenance and fuel logs are checked regularly.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and a minimum of two years of work experience as a driver. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations is essential, and skills in minor vehicle repairs are considered an asset. The ability to operate in compliance with road and safety regulations is crucial, as is a high sense of responsibility. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues, as well as the ability to adhere to work assignments and meet designated deadlines.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes the completion of secondary school or an equivalent level of education. Drivers training is highly desirable, and a certificate in AV/B6 is considered an asset. This educational background ensures that candidates have the foundational knowledge necessary for safe and effective driving.

This position is classified as an Individual Contractual Agreement (Local ICA) with a retainer contract level of LICA
  • The contract duration is for one year, with a total of 180 days of work spread over 15 days each month.
