Job Overview:
The Logistics Assistant plays a crucial role in the Mission Support Centre of UNISFA, responsible for ensuring effective logistics support and coordination within the mission. The incumbent will be tasked with identifying logistics transportation requirements, implementing methods for optimal resource utilization, and providing logistical support for lifeline commodities and services. The position requires participation in logistics planning and coordination with various stakeholders, ensuring that the mission's logistics implementation plans are effectively developed and executed. The Logistics Assistant will also be involved in emergency logistics planning and will need to identify and overcome obstacles in delivering goods. This role is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency of the mission and ensuring that all logistical needs are met in a timely and effective manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: identifying routine logistics transportation requirements, preparing and implementing logistics plans, providing logistical support for fuel and rations, coordinating logistics support with mission clients, reviewing logistics implementation plans, developing deployment plans for goods and passenger movements, participating in the development of emergency logistics plans, liaising with regional offices and military contingents, conducting regular visits to verify logistics support adequacy, reviewing logistics support requests, monitoring storage facilities, coordinating transportation for staff and troop movements, ensuring compliance with logistics agreements, and maintaining records of logistics requests and deliveries. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication with various stakeholders to ensure that logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma as a minimum requirement. A technical or vocational certificate in logistics, transportation, or asset management is desirable. Additionally, a valid driver's license is required, with the ability to operate a manual-transmission light vehicle in 4x4 conditions. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of logistics operations and coordination, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Professionalism, teamwork, client orientation, and strong planning and organizing skills are essential for success in this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma. Candidates with additional qualifications such as a technical or vocational certificate in logistics, transportation, or asset management will be preferred. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of logistics operations and effectively managing the various responsibilities associated with the role.

Experience:
A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in logistics operations, logistics coordination, supply-chain management, asset management, or a related area is required. Languages:
