Job Overview: The Senior Market Activation Advisor will lead a four-year initiative aimed at introducing new health products in priority low-and-middle income countries. This role involves overseeing market access activities to expand access to critical health services. The advisor will support market shaping and access functions across various projects, managing the implementation of technical activities in alignment with PSI and global best practices. The position requires involvement in the design of technical activities and strategies for projects or network members, contributing to internal capacity building efforts across the PSI network. The advisor will also serve as a thought leader, providing expertise and guidance in their field, and will be responsible for engaging with donors and representing PSI in external forums.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Lead or manage the development of technical activities and strategies for the department and projects. Provide both remote and in-country technical assistance to enhance the capacity of network members. Analyze evidence to identify best practices and provide subject matter expertise.
Representation: Engage with donors and represent PSI in external forums, effectively communicating PSI's work in both written and verbal formats. Participate in technical discussions and meetings convened by donors.
Thought Leadership: Collaborate with other PSI departments, contributing as a subject matter expert. Develop new tools, frameworks, or content for publications that showcase PSI's technical expertise.
Program Management: Oversee technical workstreams, ensuring that all milestones and deliverables are met.
People Management: May manage staff, providing coaching and mentoring.
Embody PSI’s values: Uphold values of measurement, pragmatism, honesty, trust, collaboration, and commitment.
Travel: Expect 10-25% international travel, with time percentages being estimates that may change.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field such as MPH, MSc, MPP, MPA, or MBA.
At least 10 years of relevant experience, with an equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Advanced technical knowledge in relevant areas, particularly in new and emerging HIV products and services.
Proven ability to contribute to thought leadership and the internal/external body of evidence in relevant technical areas.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and familiarity with data analysis programs preferred.
Cultural humility and respect for diverse backgrounds.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field such as Public Health (MPH), Master of Science (MSc), Master of Public Policy (MPP), Master of Public Administration (MPA), or Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Experience: The position requires at least 10 years of related experience in the field. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. Experience and knowledge in new and emerging HIV products and services are highly preferred, along with a demonstrated ability to contribute to thought leadership in relevant technical areas.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory. Additionally, proficiency in a relevant language other than English is preferred, which would enhance communication and collaboration in diverse environments.
Additional Notes: The position is remote eligible, subject to manager approval, and is contingent upon funding. The role may involve managing people and providing coaching and mentoring.
