Job Overview:
The Information Systems Assistant plays a crucial role in providing technical and functional support for computer information systems within the UNAMA Kunduz Field Office. The assistant will be responsible for managing a team, coordinating activities related to computer applications and systems development, and preparing reports and communications. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Systems Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
- Providing comprehensive technical support for computer information systems, including applications support, server and data center administration, network administration, IT service support, and ICT security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security.
- Diagnosing and resolving complex ICT problems, ensuring that all mission components receive the necessary support.
- Drafting correspondence and communications related to work plans and periodic reports.
- Coordinating activities related to computer applications and systems development, including liaising with various organizational units and managing administrative actions.
- Keeping up-to-date with developments in the ICT field and proposing new acquisitions.
- Guiding and training new or junior staff members to ensure proper implementation of projects.
- Assessing new ICT requirements and recommending technologies that benefit end-users and the organization.
- Performing technical evaluations of new software and hardware solutions.
- Managing a team of 13 staff members to ensure effective delivery of ICT services in the absence of the unit chief or supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, they should have a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in information systems analysis, database management, website development, systems administration, and related fields. Strong technical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate professionalism, client orientation, and technological awareness.
Educational Background:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. While specific job-related qualifications are not detailed, candidates are expected to have a solid foundation in information technology and systems management.
Experience:
