Job Overview: The Online UN Volunteer with Graphic Designer skills will play a crucial role in enhancing the Welcome Kit for new UNICEF Guinea-Bissau staff, consultants, and partners. This position focuses on improving the design and usability of the Welcome Kit, which serves as a vital resource for onboarding new team members. The volunteer will be tasked with revising the layout, enhancing graphical elements, and incorporating relevant photos from the UNICEF office to create a more engaging and user-friendly design. Duties and Responsibilities:
Revise the layout of the Welcome Kit to improve its visual appeal and functionality.
Enhance graphical elements to ensure they are engaging and informative.
Incorporate relevant photos from the UNICEF office to personalize the Welcome Kit.
Collaborate with UNICEF staff to gather necessary information and insights for the Welcome Kit.
Ensure that the design aligns with UNICEF's branding and communication standards.
Provide recommendations for ongoing improvements to the Welcome Kit based on feedback from new staff and partners.
Assist in creating a user-friendly format that facilitates easy navigation and access to information.
Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and gather input from colleagues.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar tools.
Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Familiarity with UNICEF's mission and values is an advantage.
Educational Background: A degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
