Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a thorough literature review on the impact of AI and emerging technologies on volunteering and development.
  • Design a research methodology that effectively captures data relevant to the study.
  • Collect qualitative and quantitative data through surveys, interviews, and case studies.
  • Analyze the data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities related to AI in the context of volunteering.
  • Prepare a detailed report summarizing the findings, including recommendations for stakeholders in the volunteering sector.
  • Present the findings to UNV and other relevant stakeholders, facilitating discussions on the implications of the study.
  • Ensure that all research activities comply with ethical standards and UNV guidelines.
  • Submit progress reports as required throughout the assignment period.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in Artificial Intelligence and its applications in social development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Experience in conducting research, particularly in the field of volunteering or development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with UNV's mission and the role of volunteerism in development is an asset.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree or higher in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Development Studies, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required. Additional certifications or training in AI or research methodologies will be considered an advantage.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in research, particularly focusing on the intersection of technology and social development. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is preferred. Demonstrated experience in conducting studies or evaluations related to volunteerism or community engagement is highly desirable.

Languages:
English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly those relevant to the regions where UNV operates, would be considered a plus.
