Job Overview: The Fatigue Risk Management Expert (OPAS) will play a crucial role in implementing and managing a data-driven Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS) aimed at mitigating fatigue risks for aviation stakeholders in Saudi Arabia. This position requires the expert to administer a system based on scientific principles and operational knowledge, facilitating continuous monitoring and management of safety risks associated with fatigue-related errors. The expert will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management processes, designing educational modules, and managing the analysis and documentation of the FRMS. The role also involves collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance safety and performance in the aviation sector.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer and execute the GACA Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS).
Identify and provide mitigation suggestions for managing fatigue-related risks.
Monitor and manage the effects of fatigue to improve alertness and reduce performance errors among aviation stakeholders.
Develop and implement risk management and safety assurance processes specifically for fatigue.
Design and deliver fatigue-related education and training modules.
Conduct analysis, investigation, documentation, trending, and monitoring of the GACA FRMS for industry stakeholders.
Perform other related duties as assigned within the field of specialization.
Required Qualifications:
University degree in Aviation or relevant academic qualifications.
Extensive experience (10 years or more) in aviation fatigue risk management, with increasing levels of responsibility leading to supervisory roles.
Professional or advanced technical qualifications in FRMS.
Demonstrated experience in safety management and civil aviation safety regulations.
Thorough knowledge of ICAO SARPs and the ability to apply directives accurately.
Strong writing skills for producing detailed technical reports and making verbal presentations.
Educational Background: A university degree in Aviation or a related field is required. Additional professional qualifications in fatigue risk management or related disciplines are preferred.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in a modern aviation environment, with a focus on fatigue risk management. Experience should include supervisory roles in large government or international organizations or within the aviation industry, demonstrating a progressive increase in responsibility.
Languages: A good command of oral and written English is essential for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
