Job Overview:
The Senior Consultant for Sustainable Reporting Regulatory Framework is tasked with developing a regulatory framework related to IFRS Sustainability Standards. This position is specifically for a national consultant and involves a commitment of 44 working days, extending until October 202
  • The consultant will be expected to engage with various stakeholders to ensure that the framework aligns with international standards and meets the local context's needs. The role requires a deep understanding of sustainability reporting and regulatory practices, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. The consultant will also be responsible for drafting reports, providing recommendations, and facilitating discussions among stakeholders to promote the adoption of sustainable reporting practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current regulatory landscape regarding sustainability reporting in Mongolia.
  • Develop a detailed framework for IFRS Sustainability Standards that is tailored to the national context.
  • Engage with government agencies, private sector representatives, and civil society organizations to gather input and feedback on the proposed framework.
  • Prepare and present reports outlining findings, recommendations, and the proposed regulatory framework to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to discuss the framework and gather further insights.
  • Ensure that the framework aligns with international best practices and standards in sustainability reporting.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to stakeholders during the implementation phase of the framework.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the framework post-implementation and suggest necessary adjustments.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in sustainability reporting and regulatory frameworks, particularly in relation to IFRS standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with the Mongolian regulatory environment and sustainability challenges is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
A master's degree in environmental science, sustainability, finance, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in sustainability reporting or related areas will be considered an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sustainability reporting, regulatory framework development, or related fields is required. Experience working with international organizations or government agencies on sustainability issues is preferred.

Languages:
Fluency in Mongolian is mandatory. Proficiency in English is also required, and knowledge of additional languages would be considered an advantage.

Additional Notes:
This position is a contract role for a duration of 44 working days, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance. The consultant will be expected to work full-time during the assignment period. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and in line with UNDP's policies. The position is open to national consultants only.
