Job Overview:
The ICT Senior Associate - DevOps position is a critical role within UNOPS, focusing on the development and support of technical solutions for the Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH). The incumbent will work under the supervision of the UNOPS Senior Programme Manager and the Information Systems Officer, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of ICT solutions that support the operational needs of the organization. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the complete development life cycle, from analysis to deployment, and involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that the technical solutions align with business requirements. The position emphasizes the importance of quality service delivery and adherence to operational standards, making it essential for the incumbent to possess strong technical skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with clients and team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The ICT Senior Associate - DevOps will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Solutions Design and Development: Assisting in the design and development of changes in assigned projects, ensuring that they meet deadlines and objectives. Supporting the business in defining the right technical portal architecture and participating in the preparation of project development documents. Applying in-depth knowledge of technologies such as ASP.NET, SQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and others for portal integration. Developing custom applications to automate manual processes and assisting in the design and development of web projects and graphics.
  • Solutions Support and Maintenance: Maintaining assigned portions of systems, providing operational support, analyzing, and implementing system changes/upgrades. Assisting in the setup and monitoring of software performance measures and ensuring adherence to operational standards for quality and timeliness. Organizing and performing unit and integrated testing, and assisting users in acceptance testing. Participating in Helpdesk support services.
  • Client Coordination and Documentation: Representing the team professionally when dealing with clients, preparing and maintaining system documentation and technical/procedural manuals, and ensuring that services adhere to operational standards. Performing other duties as required in line with the incumbent's scope of services.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary school diploma (or high school equivalent) with seven years of relevant experience, or a first-level university degree (undergraduate, Bachelors, or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with three years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a relevant professional or technical diploma with five years of relevant experience is acceptable. Candidates should have experience in ICT development and support of web application projects, with at least one year of experience in DevOps and familiarity with help desk or service desk support services. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is also required. Desirable qualifications include proficiency in website development technologies such as ASP.NET, SQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and knowledge of database management tools and Windows Server administration.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a secondary school diploma or equivalent, a first-level university degree in a relevant field, or a relevant professional or technical diploma. Candidates with a higher level of education and relevant experience are preferred, particularly those with degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Engineering.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant experience for candidates with a secondary school diploma, three years for those with a first-level university degree, and five years for those with a relevant professional or technical diploma. Relevant experience is defined as experience in ICT development and support of web application projects, with a minimum of one year of experience specifically in DevOps. Candidates should also have experience with help desk or service desk support services and Microsoft SQL Server.

Languages:
Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of one or more official UN languages will be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile and ability to communicate effectively in a diverse work environment.
