Job Overview:
The position of Electrical Engineer is crucial for the implementation of Phase III of the project 'Reviving Mosul and Basrah Old Cities.' This project aims to create conditions for local stakeholders to engage in urban and cultural revitalization. The Electrical Engineer will provide technical guidance and support for the rehabilitation and restoration of historical buildings, focusing on electrical interventions and infrastructure upgrades. The role involves conducting technical assessments, ensuring compliance with building codes, and overseeing electrical works to ensure quality and safety. The engineer will also be responsible for managing relationships with stakeholders and providing reports on project activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Electrical Engineer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
  • Providing technical guidance and field support for the rehabilitation of historical buildings, focusing on electrical systems.
  • Conducting technical assessments of damaged structures and drafting detailed reports on electrical conditions.
  • Supporting design teams in identifying conflicts between electrical installations and architectural designs.
  • Monitoring electrical works on-site to ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards.
  • Investigating and documenting defective electrical installations, providing recommendations for corrections.
  • Performing inspections and routine tests to ensure compliance with electrical standards.
  • Managing testing of electrical components and interpreting test results.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, with an advanced degree (Master's or PhD) being desirable. A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as an Electrical Engineer is required. Candidates should have knowledge of construction procedures, electrical components, and applicable standards and codes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD, and other relevant software is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are necessary for success in this role.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering as a minimum educational qualification. An advanced degree, such as a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's competitiveness for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, particularly in roles related to construction and rehabilitation of buildings.
