The intern will be expected to assist with various tasks related to communication and public engagement, including content creation for social media, production of communication products, event preparations, and data analysis for office reports. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic international organization while contributing to the UN's mission of promoting global understanding and cooperation.
Duties and Responsibilities: The selected intern will perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to: assisting with the content and design of social media posts and analyzing social media metrics; supporting the production of communication products through research, information compilation, logisticscoordination, and public inquiries; preparing for events and high-level visits from UN headquarters and field offices; compiling, analyzing, and organizing data for office reports; attending meetings and drafting summaries; and performing other tasks as necessary to support the UNIC's objectives.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). While professional work experience is not required for the UN Internship Programme, applicants must have a field of study closely related to the internship they are applying for. Proof of meeting these criteria must be attached to the application, and an official certificate will be required at a later stage.
Educational Background: Candidates must be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or enrolled in or have completed a Master’s or Ph.D. Programme. The educational background should be relevant to the internship position, ensuring that the intern has the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to the UNIC's work.
Experience: While no professional work experience is required for this internship, candidates should have relevant academic experience or coursework that aligns with the responsibilities of the position.
