Job Overview:
The Programme Assistant SRHR plays a crucial role in supporting the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) unit by providing comprehensive programme, administrative, and logistical support. This position requires a client-oriented approach, ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and in compliance with UNFPA's rules and guidelines. The Programme Assistant will work closely with the SRHR team, assisting in various tasks such as logistical arrangements for meetings and events, maintaining electronic mailing lists, and compiling information for progress reports. The role is designed for individuals who can manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining a high standard of service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the SRHR Programme Team: Assist with logistical arrangements for meetings, missions, workshops, and events, including procurement of supplies and logistical coordination. Help collect supporting documents for payments.
  • Research and Knowledge Management Sharing Support: Archive, file, and maintain up-to-date electronic mailing lists on SRHR programme matters. Record and distribute meeting minutes promptly and follow up on agreed actions. Provide administrative support in compiling information for progress reports.
  • General Support: Carry out any other duties as required by UNFPA management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist in various capacities as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Completed Secondary Level Education is required. Additional training or certification in administration or office management is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and Experience: A minimum of four years of relevant experience in project/programme support within private, national, or international organizations, including some experience in research assistance. Previous experience in the UN system is advantageous. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential, along with proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus. Good writing and communication skills are necessary, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Experience in disability-inclusive and gender-transformative programming is an asset.

Educational Background:
The position requires completed Secondary Level Education as a minimum. Additional qualifications in administration or office management are beneficial and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should possess at least four years of relevant experience in project or programme support roles. This experience should ideally be within private, national, or international organizations, with a preference for those who have worked in the UN system. The role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written English is mandatory for this position. A working knowledge of another UN official language is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.
