Job Overview:
The Public Information Intern position is situated within the Chinese Language Unit of the Social Media Section, Campaigns and Country Operations Division of the Department of Global Communications. The intern will engage in various social media activities, focusing on the integration of platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, WeChat, Weibo, Tumblr, Flickr, and YouTube. The role requires a commitment to a full-time schedule for a minimum of three months, with the possibility of starting remotely until the intern secures a G4 Visa. The intern will be responsible for creating and managing social media content that aligns with the UN's core priorities, including the Sustainable Development Goals and climate action, while also appealing to younger audiences in the Chinese-speaking community.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities include researching, compiling, drafting, and editing content for Chinese social media platforms, often under tight deadlines. They will monitor and analyze social media engagement metrics, audience analytics, and content performance. The intern will also create content from UN events, develop engaging posts for platforms like Weibo and Kuaishou, edit video content, manage meeting agendas, draft notes, and assist with special projects as assigned. This role requires a proactive approach to content creation and a strong understanding of social media dynamics.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program or the final year of a bachelor's degree. A keen interest in the UN's work and a commitment to its ideals are essential. Candidates should demonstrate effective communication skills, teamwork, and creativity. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office and graphic design/video editing software, is required. Strong analytical and writing skills in Chinese are crucial, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be students in their final year of a bachelor's degree, or enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program. A field of study closely related to the internship is necessary, and proof of enrollment or completion must be provided during the application process.

Experience:
