Job Overview: The position of Consultor/a Coordinador Nal Fase PPG Financing Agrochemical Reduction involves coordinating the national phase of the project preparation for the Financing Agrochemical Reduction and Management initiative. The consultant will provide essential support to the International Leader of the PPG and the Environmental and Social Standards Specialist in drafting the project documentation in accordance with UNDP and GEF guidelines. The role requires the consultant to facilitate and supervise the work of other specialists in the team during the preparation phase of the FARM+ Program. The consultant is expected to work remotely but must reside in Mexico and be available for field missions as required, with short notice. The estimated duration of the consultancy is 10 months, starting in March 2025 and concluding in December 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
Coordinate the national preparation phase of the project, ensuring alignment with UNDP and GEF standards.
Collaborate with the International Leader of the PPG and the Environmental and Social Standards Specialist to draft comprehensive project documentation.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among team specialists, ensuring effective teamwork and project progress.
Supervise the work of specialists and provide guidance as needed to meet project objectives.
Prepare reports and documentation as required by UNDP, ensuring timely submission and adherence to quality standards.
Participate in meetings and consultations with stakeholders to gather input and feedback on project development.
Conduct field visits within Mexico to monitor project activities and provide on-ground support.
Be available for consultations and respond to inquiries from team members and stakeholders, considering different time zones.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
Proven experience in project coordination, particularly in environmental or agricultural sectors.
Strong understanding of UNDP and GEF project guidelines and standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a relevant educational background, preferably a Master's degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Project Management, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in project coordination or management, particularly in environmental or agricultural projects. Experience working with international organizations, especially in the context of UNDP or GEF projects, is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the consultant will be working primarily in Mexico. Proficiency in English is also required to communicate effectively with international stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: This consultancy is part-time, with the expectation of availability for field missions within Mexico as needed. The consultant will be compensated through six payments upon delivery and acceptance of project outputs to the satisfaction of UNDP. The position is remote, but the consultant must reside in Mexico to facilitate fieldwork and stakeholder engagement.
