Job Overview: As an Immunization Manager, you will lead the development, planning, implementation, delivery, monitoring, evaluation, and oversight of the immunization program in Yemen. This role requires a focus on Child Survival and Development, Maternal and Child Health, and Health and Nutrition components. You will ensure that the immunization program promotes gender equality, emphasizing gender disaggregation and mainstreaming. Your leadership will be crucial in achieving UNICEF's immunization goals and objectives, ensuring that the program is responsive to the needs of children and families in Yemen.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Conduct timely sectoral analysis and contribute to the Situation Analysis with integration of sex-disaggregated data for effective project planning and management. 2. Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and implement immunization strategies. 3. Establish strategic work plans and objectives, providing technical support and ensuring timely delivery of results. 4. Monitor and evaluate project implementation progress for adjustments and improvements. 5. Provide technical support to government and NGOs, including capacity building. 6. Strengthen the capacities of Country Office staff through effective training programs. 7. Ensure accountability for supply and non-supply assistance and program fund disbursement. 8. Maintain effective partnerships for advocacy, technical cooperation, and information sharing. 9. Provide relevant information to support the Immunization Program through integrated child survival monitoring. 10. Prepare all required program reports in compliance with guidelines. 11. Maintain emergency preparedness and provide effective responses during emergencies. 12. Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities effectively.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must possess an advanced degree in relevant fields such as Medicine, Public Health, Pediatric Health, Global/International Health, Health Policy and Management, Family Health, Socio-medical Sciences, Health Education, Epidemiology, or other fields related to immunization. Candidates should have a strong understanding of health systems and immunization practices.
Educational Background: Candidates must have an advanced degree in disciplines relevant to health and immunization, such as Medicine, Public Health, or Epidemiology. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of health programs and the specific needs of immunization initiatives.
Experience: Candidates should have at least eight years of professional work experience at both national and international levels in health program development, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience in a managerial or technical expert position in child survival and health care is required, along with familiarity with emergency contexts and developing country work experience.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Arabic is desirable, as it will enhance communication and collaboration with local partners and stakeholders.
