Job Overview: The IT Service Assistant Intern will work under the direct supervision of the End User Services Coordinator within the Information Management Services Section of the ICC. This role is designed for individuals who are in the early stages of their professional careers and are looking to gain practical experience in IT service management. The intern will assist in providing first-line technology support, which includes supporting courtroom and meeting technology, handling service requests, and troubleshooting software issues. The position offers a unique opportunity to learn about the operations of an international court and to contribute to the effective management of information services that support the Court's mission. The intern will also engage in various IT-related projects, allowing for a comprehensive learning experience in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: assisting with first-line technology support for courtrooms and meetings; handling service requests and incidents, aiming to resolve them at the first point of contact; supporting the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various software packages used by the ICC; assisting with the delivery of new end-user equipment and maintaining asset inventory; creating documentation for IT processes; supporting IT-related projects; assisting with data entry and updating information; and performing other IT-related tasks that provide opportunities to learn about different fields of expertise within the organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, preferably in Computer Science. Experience with Windows operating systems is preferred. All candidates must have a degree or be in the final stages of their studies at a recognized university, with a strong academic record. While practical experience is not a prerequisite, any relevant experience may be considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate adaptability to multicultural environments, a willingness to learn, strong teamwork skills, and a good standard of computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Specialized knowledge in Microsoft products and familiarity with ITIL Best Practices are considered assets but are not required.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field is required, with a preference for candidates who have studied Computer Science. Candidates should be in the final stages of their studies or have already completed their degree at a recognized university. A strong academic performance is expected, as this reflects the candidate's commitment and capability in the field.
Experience: The internship is aimed at candidates in the early stages of their professional careers, meaning that prior practical experience is not essential for selection. However, any relevant practical experience that aligns with the work of the Court may be viewed favorably. Languages: Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, either French or English, is required. A working knowledge of the other language is desirable. Additional Notes: The internship is for a contract duration of 6 months, requiring full-time commitment. Interns are expected to work between three and six months, with placements not extending beyond six months.
