Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duties and responsibilities of the Visiting Professional include:
Assisting the Archives and Legacy team with the appraisal, accessioning, and description of both print and digital archival records.
Creating finding aids to facilitate access to archival materials.
Digitizing records as necessary to enhance preservation and accessibility.
Processing and packaging physical items according to best practices in archival management.
Responding to reference requests from ICC staff and external researchers, providing necessary information and support.
Monitoring environmental conditions in the archive to ensure the preservation of materials.
Completing individual projects as agreed upon with the team.
Assisting with the provision of library services as required, contributing to the overall information management efforts of the Court.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a degree in archives, records management, museum studies, information science, library science, information management, or a related field from a recognized university. A strong academic record is expected, demonstrating the candidate's commitment to their field of study. Additionally, candidates should exhibit a service-oriented attitude, adaptability to multicultural environments, and strong teamwork skills. Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications, is also required.
Educational Background: A degree in archives, records management, museum studies, information science, library science, information management, or a related field is mandatory. Candidates are expected to have a very good academic performance, which reflects their dedication and capability in the field.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in fields related to archives, records management, or information management. This experience should ideally include practical work that aligns with the responsibilities of the position at the ICC.
