Job Overview:
The voluntary position within the Natural Sciences sector at UNESCO is designed to provide support in various tasks aimed at achieving critical objectives related to the conservation and restoration of natural resources. The role involves systematic updating of databases, conducting research and analysis of relevant sources, particularly concerning marine, aquatic, and terrestrial resources within biosphere reserves, mixed heritage sites, coastal priority sites, and geoparks. The volunteer will also review international policies, projects, and legislation related to watershed and water management, identify projects that address both climate change and biodiversity loss in protected areas, and create informative content for communication purposes. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the volunteer include:

• Systematizing and updating databases related to natural sciences.
• Conducting thorough research and analysis of relevant sources concerning the conservation and restoration of natural resources.
• Reviewing international policies, projects, and legislation related to water management and watershed issues.
• Identifying projects that simultaneously address climate change and biodiversity loss in protected areas.
• Creating and editing informative, graphic, and audiovisual content for communication on social media and other relevant platforms.
• Providing administrative and logistical support, including assistance with bibliographic materials, meeting minutes, and other related tasks.
• Collaborating with team members to ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing within the sector.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be at least 20 years old and demonstrate a strong interest in UNESCO's mission. They should possess scientific research skills in disciplines such as biology, geography, chemistry, and physics. Additionally, candidates must have the ability to understand and analyze issues caused by anthropogenic activities affecting natural cycles, including climate change and biodiversity loss. Skills in identifying risks related to natural disasters and a basic understanding of socio-environmental crises in Mexico are also required. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of English is necessary, along with access to the internet and a personal computer.
