Job Overview:
The intern will assist with public communication tasks for UNESCO's representation in Mexico, working within a results-based framework. The role involves creating and editing informative and journalistic content, both graphic and audiovisual. The intern will manage and schedule content on social media platforms, seek and analyze various types of data, statistics, and indicators, systematize and update databases, support the design of comprehensive communication strategies, and provide assistance with administrative and logistical tasks. This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in communication within an international organization and contribute to meaningful projects that align with UNESCO's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's duties will include:
  • Creating and editing informative and journalistic content in various formats, including text, graphics, and audiovisual materials.
  • Managing and scheduling social media content to enhance public engagement and outreach.
  • Conducting research to gather and analyze data, statistics, and indicators relevant to UNESCO's projects and initiatives.
  • Systematizing and updating databases to ensure accurate and accessible information.
  • Supporting the design and implementation of comprehensive communication strategies that align with UNESCO's objectives.
  • Assisting with administrative and logistical tasks to facilitate the smooth operation of the communication team.
  • Collaborating with team members to brainstorm and develop innovative communication solutions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be at least 20 years old and be Mexican nationals who have completed their studies or are in their final year of undergraduate studies (Bachelor's degree or Technical Higher Education) in communication, journalism, or graphic design at any higher education institution in Mexico. Basic knowledge of graphic and audiovisual editing programs or platforms is required, along with a basic understanding of English. Candidates must have access to the internet and a computer at home. Special encouragement is given to women, individuals who self-identify as part of an indigenous community, Afro-descendants, LGBTTTIQ+ individuals, and those residing outside Mexico City and from public higher education institutions.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes completion or enrollment in the final year of a Bachelor's degree or Technical Higher Education in communication, journalism, or graphic design from an accredited institution in Mexico. This educational foundation is essential for the intern to effectively contribute to the communication tasks outlined in the job description.

Experience:
While prior professional experience is not explicitly required for this internship, candidates should demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge through their academic background and any practical experience gained during their studies. This could include internships, volunteer work, or projects related to communication, journalism, or graphic design.

Languages:

The internship is a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension to 6 months.
