Job Overview:
The Community Resilience Senior Coordinator will provide essential programmatic and administrative support to the Caribbean Resilience Initiative (CRI), focusing on the growth and implementation of high-quality programming across various jurisdictions in the Caribbean. This role is pivotal in managing information and data related to program progress and impact, ensuring effective program implementation, and engaging local stakeholders, including community partners and government entities. The Coordinator will work closely with the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) to develop assessments, coordinate community engagement, and strengthen program coordination. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Community Resilience Senior Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including acting as the primary coordinating team member for activities in St. Croix, collaborating with local partners for quality program delivery, and serving as the community focal point for Mercy Corps activities. The Coordinator will support the planning and execution of program-related workshops, maintain communication with local organizations and government representatives, and lead training sessions for local stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves facilitating discussions on equitable access to emergency services, supporting information campaigns, and ensuring adherence to Mercy Corps’ policies and standards. The Coordinator will also lead local assessments and data collection, provide monitoring systems, and support administrative tasks related to project management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a BA/S in International Development or a related field, with a strong preference for those with 2+ years of experience in program management coordination. Proficiency in MS Office software is required, and prior experience in NGOs or international development is preferred. Knowledge of relevant technical sectors such as emergency relief, disaster risk reduction, and economic development is advantageous. The ability to interact effectively with diverse personnel and stakeholders is essential, along with strong organizational and multitasking skills to ensure timely program activities.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field is highly preferred. Candidates with relevant certifications or additional training in program management or community development will be considered favorably. Educational qualifications should reflect a strong understanding of the principles of community resilience and disaster preparedness.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in providing coordination and support for program management. Candidates should have experience working in community development or disaster response settings, with a proven ability to engage with local stakeholders and manage multiple tasks effectively. Experience in training and capacity building within communities is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with local partners. Knowledge of additional languages spoken in the Caribbean region, such as Spanish or French, would be considered a valuable asset, enhancing communication with diverse community members and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is hybrid/remote, with a preference for candidates based in St. Lucia or Jamaica. The role requires a commitment to a five-day work week, with approximately 40% travel to field program locations. The Community Resilience Senior Coordinator will be expected to work part-time from the OECS office in Castries, St. Lucia, to facilitate better coordination throughout the program.
