Job Overview:
The Advocacy and Communication Manager plays a crucial role in shaping the advocacy strategies and communication efforts of SAMS. This position requires collaboration with advocacy and communications staff across different SAMS offices and headquarters to influence policies that enhance access to humanitarian services and protect civilians and humanitarian workers. The manager will be expected to operate at both strategic and operational levels, ensuring that SAMS's mission is effectively communicated and that advocacy efforts are aligned with the organization's goals. The role involves engaging with various stakeholders, including policymakers, donors, and humanitarian coordination platforms, to raise SAMS's profile and advocate for critical issues affecting the organization and the communities it serves.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Advocacy and Communication Manager will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: collaborating with the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">country director and senior management to identify key policy areas for advocacy; developing and implementing advocacy strategies, policies, and campaigns; mapping and analyzing donor and partner assessments; engaging with humanitarian coordination platforms; maintaining daily communication with medical teams on the ground; monitoring data related to humanitarian needs; representing SAMS in various humanitarian platforms; preparing talking points and briefings for senior leadership; facilitating advocacy events and trips; liaising with human rights bodies; building relationships with key stakeholders; and supervising the budget for advocacy activities. The manager will also promote a positive office culture and ensure that all advocacy efforts align with SAMS's mission and values.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Communication, Public Relations, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of three years of proven experience in an Advocacy & Communication Manager role is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong advocacy management skills, representation capacities, networking abilities, and coordination skills. The ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders is essential for success in this position.

Educational Background:
A university degree in Communication, Public Relations, or a related field is mandatory for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the principles of effective communication and advocacy, which are critical for the role.

Experience:
