Job Overview:
The position of Support Chargé(e) de Comptabilité involves assisting the Financial and coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Administrative Coordinator or the support coordinator in managing the accounting operations of Solidarités International within the mission. The role is crucial for ensuring that the organization's financial rules and procedures are properly applied and monitored, particularly concerning the commitment and tracking of expenses. The mission has been active in France since March 2020, initially as an emergency response to the health crisis, and has since evolved to address the needs of vulnerable populations lacking access to water and sanitation, particularly those living in precarious housing situations such as slums and squats. The general objective of this role is to support the financial team in maintaining accurate and timely financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Financial and Administrative Coordinator in processing accounting operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Solidarités International's financial rules and procedures.
  • Monitor and track expenses to ensure they align with the budget.
  • Understand the accounting mechanisms of the mission within the first few months.
  • Take ownership of the SAGA accounting software and ensure its effective use.
  • Integrate accounting practices into the mission's operations.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
  • Prepare financial reports as required.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth financial operations. 1
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance accounting skills.

Required Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of accounting codes and principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with the SAGA accounting software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and methodically.
  • Honesty and integrity in handling financial information.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred, although relevant experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education. Candidates should have a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Experience:
Candidates should have 0-2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a focus on accounting or finance roles. Experience in a similar position is also desirable, allowing the candidate to bring relevant skills and knowledge to the role.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
This is a part-time position (2.5 days per week) with a contract duration of 6 months, renewable based on performance and organizational needs. The salary for this position starts at EUR 2508 gross per month, with a prorated salary of EUR 1254 for part-time work.
