Job Overview: The Casework Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the ORR Initial Resettlement Services (OIRS), Cuban/Haitian Healthcare Navigation Program, and Asylum Seekers & Families (ASF) case management programs. This position is responsible for supervising staff and ensuring that essential services are provided to individuals and families who have Humanitarian Parole or are filing for asylum in San Diego. The Casework Supervisor ensures quality control in service provision and compliance with contractual obligations, overseeing new arrivals and the timely delivery of core services. This includes maintaining program compliance, coordinating case file reviews, completing program reports, and managing client funds. Additionally, the supervisor is involved in program planning and staff development, including training, onboarding, and performance evaluations, while fostering community partnerships.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Casework Supervisor's responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including:
- Supervising program staff to ensure timely provision of core services such as Cultural Orientation, health screenings, benefits enrollment, schooling, family budgeting, job placement referrals, and English as an Other Language services.
- Ensuring clients are placed in safe and appropriate housing efficiently and tracking the use of external funds to offset housing costs.
- Conducting regular case file reviews to ensure compliance with documentation and reporting requirements.
- Providing training on donor requirements and overseeing program spending and fund distribution.
- Meeting with clients regularly to gather feedback and support grievance processes.
- Coordinating team meetings and ensuring effective communication across departments.
- Supervising direct service staff, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
- Engaging with community partners and representing the organization in meetings.
- Providing individualized and group orientations, developing support plans, and monitoring client progress.
- Completing necessary data entry and maintaining accurate case files.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an undergraduate degree in Social Work or a related field, with equivalent experience considered. A minimum of three to four years of relevant work experience is required, particularly in social services, humanitarian relief, or public service. Supervisory experience of at least two years is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a proven record of progressively responsible roles in mission-driven environments, showcasing strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
