Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is designed to assist the Accountability and Donor Development Officer, the Program Desk Referent, and the Geographic Manager responsible for missions in Burkina Faso, Togo-Benin, Mali, and Niger. The intern will be involved in various administrative tasks necessary for managing missions and programs, as well as operational follow-up of programs implemented in the field. The internship aims to provide insights into the workings of an NGO, the relationship between headquarters and field operations, and the humanitarian and geopolitical context of the areas concerned. Interns will also learn about the specific expectations of donors and gain practical experience in project management and funding cycles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for updating monthly tools such as program sheets and operational maps. Under the supervision of the Program Manager and Accountability and Donor Development Officer, the intern will ensure the follow-up of missions and field requests. They will participate in reviewing project proposals and reports for donors, providing critical feedback, and revising donor contracts and partnership agreements. The intern will also be tasked with ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines set by donors through project-related reporting schedules. Additionally, the intern will manage both paper and electronic archiving of mission-related documents, participate in briefings and debriefings for expatriates going on missions, contribute to expatriate briefings, attend weekly and monthly Desk meetings, and maintain contact with missions in the absence of responsible personnel. The intern may also be required to translate various documents between English and French and contribute to specific programmatic or technical projects.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates should have a strong interest and motivation for humanitarian work and a willingness to work in the field in the short term. Experience working internationally is appreciated. Strong writing, synthesis, and spelling skills are essential, along with critical thinking, analytical skills, autonomy, rigor, responsiveness, organization, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email (Outlook) is required.
Educational Background:
A higher education level (bac +5) is preferred, ideally in project management, humanitarian studies, political science, or international relations. Knowledge of issues related to water, food security, or rehabilitation is appreciated.
Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant experience, particularly in international settings, which would enhance their understanding of the humanitarian context and operational challenges faced by NGOs.
Languages:
Fluency in both French and English is mandatory, as the intern will be required to translate documents and communicate effectively in both languages.

The internship is based at the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), accessible via the Mairie de Clichy metro station. The internship duration is 6 months, with a desired start date of January 16, 202
- The intern will receive a stipend of €4.90 per hour, calculated based on actual hours worked each month (approximately 154 hours per month). Transportation costs will be covered at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL, and meal vouchers worth €8.90 per day will be provided, with a 60% contribution from the organization. The internship allows for 4 to 12 days of remote work per month.
