Job Description
International Learning and Development Officer
Location: UK Flexible location (with regular travel to London)
Hours: 35 hours per week (open to condensed hours or job share)
Contract type: Fixed Term (until 30th June 2022 with strong possibility of extension)
Salary: ?22,633 - ?25,908 per annum, (plus London Weighting of ?3,344 if applicable) pro rata

If you’re a L&D Officer with a genuine interest in humanitarian causes and utilising your skills to ensure that the annual learning programme continues to enable the BRC to support people in crisis, this is an exciting opportunity for you.
About the role
Reporting to the International L&D Manager, you will plan and coordinate our exciting and varied training projects and learning programmes, such as the overseas emergency response residential training, the induction of our staff in the UK and overseas and work with subject matter experts to strengthen our internal offer for areas such as security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security, safeguarding and national society development. You will ensure training events, residential simulations and online learning is impactful, targeted, effective, and meets the BRC’s commitment to our learning culture.
This role has exciting and varied responsibilities working with a range of stakeholders across the organisation. You will maintain relationships with internal and external partners, including representing BRC at networking sessions, sector collaboration groups and participation in the BRC learning network to ensure we have a strong partnership approach to learning across the Red Cross Mo vement and humanitarian sector.
About the person
With a broad understanding of L&D (potentially through CIPD qualification or equivalent experience) you will have knowledge of learning cycles, L&D methodologies and solutions, and you will have experience of planning, developing and leading on L&D interventions.
You will have excellent administration and organisational skills, including knowledge of project management, drafting, and editing skills, with great attention to detail to support maintenance of accurate records and compilation and analysis of data.
With a genuine interest, passion and understanding of the international humanitarian system or charity sector, you will be keen to grow and develop your career as part of a network of L&D professionals within the**world’s largest humanitarian organisation.**

About the team
The International Learning and Development team is part of the International People team, which sits between the People and International Directorates. The purpose of the team is to assess and meet the learning needs of staff working in the International Directorate, as well as members of BRC's international talent pools for emergency response. We deliver a range of technical and soft skills training.
As a member of the International Directorate you will be part of a directorate responsible for BRC’s international humanitarian response and disaster management, support to resilience programmes and organisational development of our partner Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies around the world.
The work of the International Directorate also includes humanitarian policy and advocacy activities and upholding and promoting International Humanit arian Law. British Red Cross' international work is carried out in coordination and partnership with the International Red Cross & Red Crescent Movement.
