Key responsibilities include leading the implementation and quality control of NRC’s ESMF and risk mitigation measures, coordinating with internal teams, donors, and contractors to ensure compliance with environmental and social standards, and providing training and support to NRC staff and implementing partners on ESS tools and approaches. The coordinator will also liaise with donor E&S focal points, ensuring timely reporting on safeguarding requirements, and support risk categorization, assessment design, and monitoring of sub-projects, particularly in infrastructure and cash-based interventions. Regular field visits will be necessary to monitor E&S implementation, engage with communities, and support technical teams. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including project managers, support coordinators, and local actors.

A strong understanding of World Bank Environmental and Social Standards or similar frameworks is essential, along with experience in drafting or reviewing environmental and social assessments, ESMPs, and monitoring tools. Familiarity with NEAT+, solar energy projects, or similar environmental screening tools is also beneficial. Strong coordination, training, and facilitation skills are required, along with fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.

Educational Background:
The position requires a degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy, Architecture, or related disciplines. A second degree in social science, development, or gender studies is advantageous and may enhance a candidate's profile for this role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in humanitarian or development programs. This experience should include a strong background in environmental and social safeguarding, as well as familiarity with compliance frameworks and standards relevant to the sector.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory for this position, both in written and spoken forms. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered a plus, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
